Shed Assembly FAQ

  • Yes, as an add-on to your shed assembly:

    • Sheds up to 100 sq ft (like 8x10 or 10x10) — $350

    • Sheds 101 to 320 sq ft (like 10x14, 12x16 or 16x20) — $425

    We build a sturdy shed floor from your pre-treated, weatherized lumber. Before we arrive, the lumber must be on site and already cut to size — we do not cut lumber.

    Floor kit came in your shed box? No add-on needed — we install it at no extra charge as part of the shed.

    Not sure which option fits? Text us a link to your shed if you ordered it online (it shows us the exact brand, model and size) — or just send a photo.

  • We don’t. Wood shed kits from brands like Heartland, Yardline and Handy Home are build-it-yourself construction projects: the walls are glued and nailed with a nail gun, and the roof has to be sheathed, covered with roofing felt and shingled on site, with shingles usually sold separately. That’s small-construction work, not assembly. We assemble metal and plastic (resin) sheds, including wood-look metal ones, from brands like Arrow, Suncast, Lifetime, Keter and Rubbermaid.   • Usually you don’t need that. Send us the product link or a photo of the kit box, plus a few shots of the spot it’s going — the surface, how level it is, and the gate or side-yard access — and we can quote you accurately, often the same day. If you’d still like someone to walk the yard in person, CJ does a 30-minute On-Site Consultation & Quote for $50, paid up front when you book. Those slots fill several days out, so photos are usually the faster way to a firm price: Book an on-site consultation

  • Yes. Your shed needs a solid, level base before we arrive, such as a concrete slab, level pavers or a shed floor. If the ground under it isn’t level, the walls can shift and the doors may not line up or close properly, and assembly can’t fix that. Not sure if your spot is level? Text us a few photos of the area before your appointment and we’ll let you know.

  • Permit requirements can vary by city, property, size, placement, HOA rules, setbacks, and how the shed is being anchored, so we’re not able to determine whether a permit is required for your specific property.

    Why we can’t answer this for you:

    • Every city sets its own rules. Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Chandler and every other Valley city have different codes.

    • The answer depends on your exact property: the shed’s size and height, how close it sits to your house and property lines, easements or utility lines, and how it’s anchored.

    • HOA approval is separate from the city. You may need one, both or neither.

    • Only your city can give an official answer for your address, and permits are applied for by the property owner.

    Size, height and distance from your property lines often matter for sheds, so have your shed’s dimensions ready when you call.

    We recommend contacting your city’s Planning or Building Department before installation to confirm whether a permit or approval is needed. If they ask for our Certificate of Insurance, we’re happy to send it.
